- If you’re a Spider-Man fan, you are most likely familiar with the infamous villain from Spider-Man 3, Venom. However, as of now, that Venom proved to be a rather mediocre one when the antagonist got its solo movie, Venom, which came out in 2018.
There have been incredible evil characters but this one just didn’t fit the mainstream idea and proved to be a loveable mess. It was a huge hit box office hit and the path for a sequel seemed quite clear even before the movie hit theatres.
Now that it’s close to 2 years since the first one came out, let’s do a rain check upon the upcoming one, Venom 2.
When Will Venom 2 Release?
The sequel was given a green light back in January 2019 with one of the writers, Kelly Marcel returning for another run. Initially, it was slated for release in October 2020. Unfortunately, like most other notable movies the global health crisis has delayed the release further to June 25, 2021.
Another movie from Sony Universe of Marvel Characters, Morbius, starring Jared Leto has also been pushed back to March 2021, preceding Venom 2 as planned.
Witnessing all the shuffling of dates, there is always a slight possibility of further delay despite no apparent difficulty in meeting the 2021 deadline.
Venom 2: Cast
Tom Hardy does a superb job with his comedic performance as Eddie Brock and his alter ego Venom. Michelle Williams is also set to return as Anne Weying, Eddie’s ex-fiancée.
Thanks to the brilliantly placed mid-credits scene, we had a pretty good idea that Woody Harrelson as Carnage.
Also, there are rumours about Tom Holland making a cameo appearance but it remains a rumour until a new cast announcement is made.
The official title for the movie is Venom: Let There be Carnage, which was recently revealed in a video in April. The title alone stands convincing enough to pull you in.
